Another fabulous read by Lisa Phillips. Roxanne (Roxie) and Liam O’ Connell were in the same Marine squad. Their worlds collide when Roxanne, who is new to Vanguard, is assigned a 10 year old cold case. The cold case involves the death of Liam’s father, a police officer.
Liam doesn’t want Vanguard to start looking into his father’s death as he wants the past to stay buried, even though his mother wants answers to her husband’s death. He is facing some career changes as his team was being moved from full-time to on-call.
Knockout is fast-paced and has nonstop action. It has it all, including dirty officers, a Russian family who must be brought down, unexpected twists and turns, and familiar characters from one of Lisa’s previous series who make an appearance in Knockout.
